A blog about no blog…

no-yesLast week I was telling myself I had better get a blog out as I had promised myself to write at least one weekly. I love writing. That wasn’t the problem. The problem was time.

I wrote in my last blog about time and how we have to make tough yes/ no decisions. This has been at the forefront of my mind since the conversation with gran. So much so, that after a busy intensive 2½ day weekend in London at a business conference and a delayed flight coming home, I realised that I couldn’t do everything, especially, after only 12hrs sleep in 72hrs…

Last week and this week, I did what I thought was important for me, my family and my clients, whilst moving a lot of what was on my to-do list aside. That meant a proper blog didn’t get written nor did the newsletter nor has the one for next week. I missed the marketing promotion to celebrate the first birthday of 12 Steps to Improve Your Cashflow and I am way behind on my marketing schedule for the next two weeks.

But it doesn’t mean my business will fall apart. My life might though if I tried to fit it all in and half the other stuff that has been thrown into the middle of next month. I’m also not going to Spain to a writing retreat as prepared as I had hoped, however, I can do some of the research out there.

Often, what we think is important is not. What is important is our health, our sanity, our profit & cash-flow and serving our current client base whilst making time for our family & friends. We do have to think ahead in our business, but often the future takes care of itself if we give the current moment our full attention.

I will hopefully catch up with you again after my trip to Spain (part business and part holiday as I celebrate my 40th birthday whilst at a writing retreat) but until then take care of yourself.

Love Helen x
