Book Launch Diary: 1 week to go!

On Wednesday I picked up the books!!

I was with clients all day and agreed to drop by Mary’s office later in the evening after a visit to the shops. I was walking around Ocean Terminal when I got a text from Mary to come early if I wanted as her plans had changed. It was weird. I didn’t rush. I was very mindful that I was really nervous!

I had the choice of deciding that today was going to be one of the best days of my life or a day that was clouded with disappointed. You see I knew there was a small error on the spine of the book cover and I was scared about what else was wrong.

I decided that I wanted to choose happiness. I decided that I loved this thing, flaws included. I decided I was resilient enough to change my thinking to one that would make this a fabulous moment that would contribute to my success. I decided I did have the strength to be different and stand out.

When I arrived at Mary’s office I was overjoyed at seeing my books sitting there. Authors know this feeling. I thought it would be amazing. It was, and more. When I picked it up and held it, the feeling was incredible and surreal at the same time. It was so weird yet equally awesome seeing Doug holding the book is in his hand later.

Doug hasn’t actually read it yet, he’s not a reader and that’s ok. I respect him for that. However as he glanced at it last night he started reading a few paragraphs and I was impressed. He then spotted he was mentioned in it and went on to read a few pages! That was an achievement for someone who has never read more than 200 words at a time in his life. I can’t understand how 😉 but I know we are all different.

There maybe a similar book out there but I haven’t come across it yet but I have come across books that cover sections of what I have written. I wanted to write a book that brought all the essential stuff together. I wanted to write a book that was different.

I went to sleep last night with a warm fuzzy feeling knowing I had accomplished my goal.
