What would you do if…

I would like to share an exercise that I have been doing in workshops that I have been invited to speak at recently in case you have been unable to attend:

I want you to imagine that you are walking along a street near your home when a kind stranger approaches you gift-bagcarrying a bag. They smile at you and say “Hi, you don’t know me but I know you very well. I would like you to have this gift” and they hand you the bag they are carrying. You open the bag and look inside to see it’s full of £5, £10, £20, £50 and £100 notes. As you look up to speak to them they have mysteriously disappeared.

What are you thinking?

What are you feeling?

Now consider the same scenario above, but this time that person is a friend and they are still there when you look up.

What are you thinking?

What are you feeling?

Now consider the same scenario again, but this time with a family member.

What are you thinking?

What are you feeling?

Now I would like you to recall times when you accept money from your customers.

What are you thinking?

What are you feeling?

Do either of the money gifts scenarios above match that of how you feel, or what you think, when your customer pays you? Does it depend on who the customer is?

If you feel this is something that is not helping your business to support you, either get yourself a copy of Successful Business Minds or come along to our next workshop!
