Book Launch Diary: 3 days to go!
Sunday was day 2 of a very informative book marketing weekend workshop which reminded me of my journey.
This weekend has been a journey in many ways. A journey from Central Scotland to the South of England. A journey making friends with other authors. A journey of speaking in front of 50 people for the first time and kinda liking it.
I have been on many other journeys with this book too. The book launch journey which you are hearing a little about in this diary blog. The journey of writing it. The journey of editing it. But the most profound journey was the one where I collected the research.
I had an emotional meltdown after getting lost in my life. It was shortly after my father died and I was left with a lot of questions unanswered. I did what I do best and threw myself into my work. I also went exploring for answers to heal in Psychology, NLP and Reiki. I survived, but I was still not happy.
I then had another meltdown in the early years of running my business full time. Like many therapists and coaches, I felt I had to choose between my logical mind and my heart. I went down both paths. Neither led me to happiness either.
One evening in the middle of a very stressful January (it’s not just those that leave their tax return to the last minute that get stressed…) I had to acknowledge I couldn’t cope anymore. I was thankfully working with a coach who did training in hypnotherapy and through working with her I realised the problem lay in my mind. I was fighting my mind. I was fighting myself. The answer was simply to make friends with my mind.
I then explored what I believed to be true by testing my beliefs and observing other businesses who were successful in my eyes and combined this with my knowledge of accounts and my knowledge of psychology, hypnotherapy, NLP and energy. The results are this book.
In this book, I explain why we have challenges in our business and what can be done about it. I discuss what has worked for me and my clients.
It’s not about choosing between our logical mind and heart. It’s about stepping forward on our journey with them holding hands. This book shows you how.
