NEVER GIVE UP!

Never give upI have had a few curve balls thrown at me in my life, most of which have hit me hard, others I have  got off lightly.

A fortnight ago the accommodation I had booked for my gran and I’s holiday fell through with less than a  week to go, and then one night we had a power cut at dinner time but these were just minor setbacks that I quite easily dealt with by taking a deep breath and changing a few details of our plans. However, yesterday I was hit with a big one! And if I am honest deep down I kind of knew it was possibility that it would be thrown at me yet I didn’t do anything about it.

The only solution I found that has worked well in the past is to keep walking, take a slight detour and NEVER give up just like I did with the accommodation. I found another self-catering cottage and I complained to the agency. The power cut was simply a matter of deciding to jump in the car and go out and eat elsewhere, although the power came back on just as we were leaving the house but we went out anyway. In response to the curveball that was thrown at me yesterday I intend to apply the same principle because when we are knocked down in the path to our goals we have the choice to stay down or pick ourselves back up again, and I don’t like staying down…

I believe we are being asked ‘How much do we really want this? We could say ‘Nah, its ok, I will go for something a little easier’, or we can say ‘I really want this and I am going to pick myself back up, dust myself off and I will see you at the finish line’.

Today I am more determined to reach my goal and I am grateful for the lessons learned, the inspiration for this blog and it is also great material for the book! I will see you at the finish line. 🙂
