Book Launch Diary: 2 days to go!
Monday was a very busy day and I caught myself several times in the afternoon and evening wishing I had more time!
I arrived back home from Portsmouth on Sunday at 11pm so I did have the common sense to take the morning off. Unfortunately, I still had to get up and dressed and out the door by 9.15am as I had arranged to see a friend 22 miles away at 10am.
I was a little tired but that was a good thing as this friend is a fellow hypnotherapist and coach. Lester is helping me with my public speaking and a few other fears I have around this book so he had an advantage of getting me into a nice relaxed state. Keeping me awake was his challenge!
We discussed how well the talk went on Friday night and the feelings I had prior to it and how I had noticed a few changes since our last session. He gave me a few more techniques which he cemented with a trance. We then enjoyed some lunch together before we had to both get back to the tasks for the day. I had several things still to do for the book launch and had some client admin work that was mounting up. It ended up being a very late night at the office but I have Tuesday off at home.
Most therapists and coaches do swaps. I think that is a great way to experience each other’s services if the price is similar. However, paying for the service is a great way to value what you are getting more. Lester is also a client of mine and I help him with his end of year accounts in addition to catch ups throughout the year. Some are part of the service, some are just because we are friends. He pays for my services when he needs them. I pay for his services when I need them.
Freebies are good too but only when we are making money in our business or it feels right. I had a client that was giving away too many freebies and hence making a loss in their business. That is not to say that we shouldn’t give away free stuff. I have been incredible blessed to have been given many gifts in my journey and I have returned the favour either directly or by paying it forward.
There is no right or wrong in terms of how many swaps you do or how many free sessions or products you give away. That will all depend on how you feel in the moment. What is important is that you value what you do and you value what the other person does. It is also crucial that you are not giving it away free or doing a swap because you feel uncomfortable around money or you feel a bit sickly when asking for money.
If you are unsure as to how you really feel about money, this book will help you shine a light on that. It also gives you some tips on how to tweak a few things but only if you feel comfortable doing so.
