Embracing fears
This week I have been overcoming even more fears!
In part 4 of Successful Business Minds I talk about the fears that hold us back and advise on how best to overcome them. I also admitted I am still working on a few of my own. I mention in the book that I had a fear of public speaking in particular, which also included videos!
I worked on the public speaking whilst the book was at the printers. Just in time for the book launch… This week I embraced the video fear by recording TWO videos this week! One was an interview held by Faith Canter, author and wellbeing coach, and the other was a video that is to go on my website and social media pages to promote the book so I can reach others who need my help.
Both were slightly daunting! However, I embraced them both with trust and surrender. Trusting that I will say what is important and letting go of perfection.
I had a head start on the interview with Faith. We did a trial run last week 😉 i.e. we recorded it with no sound! This week was much better though and it was a very different interview. Last week I was very nervous and emotionally not in a good place (I was worried about my gran’s health). This week I embraced my emotions over my gran’s ill health and gave myself some time out to re-balance. I also let go of worrying about how I would come across in the video. I trusted Faith that she would edit any embarrassing moments. Thankfully she didn’t have to…
I realised too that I am confident in what I do when do my 1-1 coaching and I trust in what unfolds so I knew that if I applied the same energy and surrender to the recording it would be ok. It was. In fact, I rather enjoyed them!
