Reflection & Intention

The 1st January is another day but as we start a new calendar, and diary, it does have a newish feel about it. I have never been a New Year resolution fan, as I believe we can wake up any day and decide we want change in our lives, however I do take time over the Christmas and New Year break to reflect on the year gone by and consider my intentions for the year ahead.

Last year I wrote a great blog Are your goals this year, the same as last year?, which I encourage you to read, as it’s important to remember that you may not have accomplished all your goals in 2015 but I am sure you have made some progress on them. Goals traditionally have a completion date and whilst this can be motivational for some, it can create stress for others. Goals for me are open ended and always changing, which is why I tend to call them intentions, because let’s face it, life has a habit of getting in the way! 😉

I haven’t yet published the book (Successful Business Minds) I have been planning since 2011 however I am in the editing stage (yeeha!) and I did publish an e-book in September 2015. These were all massive steps towards my goal. I’m now looking at a late March (or early April 2016) launch date for Successful Business Minds but I know this year it WILL happen! This is a lot closer than I felt 12 months ago, and a hundred miles from where I was 5 years ago!

I encourage you to consider the following questions:

What successes (financial and non-financial) did you have in 2015? What did they give you?

What ‘failures’ (financial and non-financial) do you believe you had in 2015? What can you learn from them? Remember failures are simply experiences that didn’t quite live up to your expectations.

What would you like to see happen in your life in 2016 and how could your business help you with that (financially and non-financially)? How could I, or anyone else, help you with that?

 Happy New Year! 🙂

PS. A lovely friend, and an amazing coach, does a fabulous New Year meditation every year. This is unlike any other meditation, and brings in a technique called generative trance which changed my life. I highly recommend you sign up for this. It will be recorded so you can listen to it at a convenient time, and if you are like me, you may even listen to it more than once! Hxx
